HHS School Profile

Harrison High School is ranked among the most competitive high schools in New York State and the nation. The following accomplishments and points of pride are attributable to Harrison's mission of rigor, adaptability, equity and access for all students, which serves as the foundation for all decisions made on behalf of our students.

  • Fully inclusive educational program with access to all course offerings for diverse populations
  • Ranked in the top 2% of schools in the nation by U.S. News and World Report which recognizes college readiness, reading and math proficiency, student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates
  • Consistently ranked among America’s Most Challenging High Schools by The Washington Post and recognized by Newsweek as one of America’s top high schools
  • 98% of students in the Class of 2024 enrolled in one or more AP or IB courses
  • 25% of the Class of 2024 enrolled in at least one Calculus course and 16% of the Class of 2024 enrolled in Multivariable Calculus
  • Music students have qualified and participated annually in All-State, Area All -State (Regional) and NYSSMA Solo and Ensemble Festivals
  • Award winning Musical Theater program; students perform and produce Fall play and One Act Festival
  • Fine Arts students presented work at the OSILAS exhibit at Concordia College, NYSSBA Legislative Exhibit, Katonah Museum’s Young Artist Exhibition, and the Bruce Museum; Fine Arts students have received recognition in the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and earned top scholarships from the New York Art Teachers Association (NYSATA)
  • 11 Metro Award nominations for the 2024 high school musical, the most of any public school
  • 116 students are enrolled in our award-winning Science Research program; In 2024, 2 students were recognized by Regeneron as Science Talent Search Scholars, 2 students as International Science & Engineering Fair Finalists and 3 students as Interns
  • The high school’s literary magazine earned an “Excellent” ranking from the National Council of Teachers of English
  • In 2024, the Debate Team won 11 national tournaments, had 7 runner-up finishes, earned 23 qualifying bids to the Tournament of Champions, and made up 3 of the top 10, and 5 of the top 20, Lincoln-Douglas debaters in the country
  • Harrison debaters are top 8 in New York State and make up 11 of the top 15 debaters in the state
  • Recognized as a School of Excellence by the New York State Athletic Association for the 2023-2024 school year, exceeding the state requirement of 75% of the Varsity sports teams achieving Scholar-Athlete Team status
