April 2023 letter

April 21, 2023

Dear Harrison High School Families,

It is hard to believe this week began the start of the final quarter of the school year and IB DP Examinations begin next week for our seniors and those juniors in one year IB courses.   As a reminder, the Portal is now open for you to view Quarter 3 grades.  This letter outlines important end-of-year information,  including important information on school exams and Regents exams.  To my senior families, there will be a letter coming out soon regarding plans for Prom and this year’s Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony.

Students and staff have been diligently preparing for the upcoming assessments.  As your child prepares for these exams, please encourage them to take advantage of the support available at the high school.  Your child’s classroom teacher offers regular extra help hours before and/or after school.

The last day of regularly scheduled classes is Tuesday, June 13th.   Students are only required to be on campus after June 13th for their examinations.  In addition, students may also be on campus if they have a scheduled review session with a teacher, an appointment with a teacher, or to attend graduation practice.

During the examination days, it is imperative that your child attend all of the tests at the scheduled time Please contact your child's teacher or the High School Guidance Office at 914-630-3101 if you have a concern or question about the time a test is scheduled.  All Regents exam times are set by New York State and may NOT be rescheduled for another date, the next administration of Regents Exams will be mid August.

PLEASE NOTE: Attendance in school is expected for all exams from June 14th - June 22nd.  There is no school on Monday, June 19th, due to the observance of Juneteenth.

I look forward to the remaining weeks with your children and enjoying seeing all of you at our end-of-the-year events.

Ms. Kimberly Beukema,
Principal HHS
