HHS Dance Students Present Modern Day Performance of the “Wizard of Oz”

Members of the HHS dance program are thrilled to be able to share dance with the community this year! We are very pleased to present "Home," a modern day version of the Wizard of Oz told through dance.

Students were unable to dance together on stage in a typical "concert" setting; therefore, the performance needed to be virtual. Each student dancer was recorded individually in the dance studio and performances were then edited together into one story. The virtual recording features all members of the HHS Dance Ensemble, with choreography by HHS dance teachers Debbie Toteda, Jessa Vanherwynen and the IB Year 2 Senior dance students. The project took more than 6 months to complete.

Ms. Toteda shared her thoughts about the process, “This project took many months to complete, with several challenges we've never faced before as virtual dancers and choreographers, but we are extremely proud of our students both on stage and behind the scenes.”

Special thanks to the PTA for funding our makeup needs and NMP Productions (HHS Alumnus Noah Platte) for filming and editing this project.
